September has arrived and brought cooler temperatures and more heavy rain with it. But, this weekend (a long one for most) we celebrate Labor Day, and the forecast looks great! Sunny with temperatures in the low 70s, perfect weather for golf! If you're planning to stay closer to home this weekend, this is the last week to take advantage of the "Connecticut Summer at the Museum Program." Through Monday, September 6th (Labor Day), Connecticut children, ages 18 and under, plus one accompanying (CT resident) adult, can visit participating museums, free of charge! Farmington's Hill-Stead Museum and Stanley-Whitman House are both participating. Click here for details, and a complete listing of participating museums, statewide.

• Tuesday, September 14th: The Farmington Fire Department is hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive, in honor of fallen fire fighter, Colin McFadden.
• Sunday, September 26th: The Farmington Rotary Club is holding their annual 5K Trail Race, at Tunxis Mead Park.
