Beautify Farmington: Holiday Kissing Ball Donations

You know the holidays are here when the Holiday Kissing Balls are up throughout Unionville Center and the The DiPietro Memorial Bridge. For the past 9 years, this program has become an annual favorite for all who live and travel through Farmington.

This beautiful public landscaping project is even more special because it is funded almost entirely by donations, big and small, from our community.

The Economic Development Commission has spearheaded this program and the response has been tremendous. But we couldn’t have this successful program without the generous support of our businesses and community members. We are asking you or your business to sponsor this program by participating in one of the sponsorship levels Find Here . No gift is too small; all donations will be acknowledged in the local press, and in the business e-newsletter.

If you or your business is interested in becoming involved, please select the appropriate sponsorship level and send a check made out to Town of Farmington, to the attention of Rose Ponte, Economic Development Director at 1 Monteith Drive, Farmington CT 06032.

Our goal is to continually fund this program for years to come, but we can’t do it without your support. Please show your civic pride and sign up today! Feel free to contact us with any questions. Donate Here!

The Farmington Community and Recreational Services Department has started collecting donations for their Annual Holiday Giving Program. The program assists qualified Farmington/Unionville residents and Open Choice students with a gift card for a meal for the Winter Holidays, and holiday gifts to children (up to age 18). This program is made possible through the generous donations of our community members. Farmington Community Chest

We need your help, Farmington! Because of the health and economic stress of the past year, and the cancellation of our annual wine tasting fundraiser, the Farmington Community Chest is in need of support now more than ever.

As a 100% volunteer-managed organization, every dollar of the donations received goes back to the community, through programs like the Veterans OASIS at Tunxis, the Farmington Fuel Bank, and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). We fund vital programs and projects that improve the health, education and community life for ALL Farmington and Unionville residents.

How you can help:

Make a 100% tax deductible donation via our website (through PayPal) https://www.farmingtoncommunitychest.com

Send a check to Farmington Community Chest, P.O. Box 60, Farmington, CT 06034 Thank you!!!

Farmington Food Pantry

We are grateful for the outpouring of interest and support that we have received from the Farmington community. However, Covid-19 posses many challenges for our pantry. We have a limited number of volunteers who can gather to safely process food donations. We have building restrictions. These and other obstacles severely limit how we accept donations so we are asking for your support as outlined below. The safest way to help is a MONETARY DONATION via secure PayPal here: https://bit.ly/2J8zl4I or check mailed to P.O. Box 84 Farmington CT 06034.

We must carefully PRE-ARRANGE AND SCHEDULE FOOD DRIVES, until further notice.

Please reach out to us for assistance with planning a “targeted” “food specific” food drive- i.e “Soup” “Cereal”, Coffee/Tea”, “Beans”, “Canned Tomatoes”. Email us: info@farmingtonfoodpantryct.com. Please do not drop food off at the pantry. Visit our website for Covid-19 updates and pantry protocols. https://bit.ly/32Gqn5m THANK YOU for all your support and positive energy!

Miss Porter's School Matching Gift Program

On this Giving Tuesday, we invite you to help Miss Porter’s School offset the significant impact Covid-19 has had on our budget. In this unique fall, Miss Porter’s was able to successfully welcome girls to campus for in-person classes, athletics, performing arts and leadership development. The financial commitment was considerable and we are asking you to help us prepare for a similar winter effort by making a gift on Giving Tuesday. All gifts made between now and Tuesday, up to $10,000, will be matched dollar for dollar by a group of generous Ancient and parent donors and will help to offset the financial impact of Covid-19.

Please make your gift today. #givingtuesday #mpsgivingtuesday #MissPortersSchool
