In 2019, the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established $100,000 community funds for each of the 29 towns in the Foundation’s region, which includes the town of Farmington. The purpose of the Greater Together Community Funds program is to support the community in taking ownership around the needs in their towns and encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement. In 2020, Farmington’s Community Fund Advisory Committee was selected. The list of current members is available here.
The Community Funds program also creates an opportunity for organizations and individuals to make tax-deductible contributions, to support their towns. Donations of any size are appreciated and can be made at hfpg.org/FarmingtonCurrentUse or hfpg.org/FarmingtonEndowed.
