Description

Winter Gardeners Book Club

A fun and lively discussion group to discuss Herbal/Earthy related books together

With Jennifer Lima, owner of Bella Vita Alchemy

Sessions will be every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month starting January 9th and ending April 24, 2025 (8 sessions total)

Our Gardens have been put to bed for the winter. Join us while we wait for spring to read and discuss books about plants and our mother earth.

We will be reading "Animal, Vegetable,. Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver. (10th anniversary edition preferred) - Any format  Please register and purchase the book (in whatever format is best for you) and try to read the first chapter before the first meeting.  No Pressure, please join the discussion even if you have not read the chapters! This is for our own enjoyment and a way for us lovers of Mother Earth to form a community.

"When Kingsolver and her family moved from suburban Arizona to rural Appalachia, they took on a new challenge: to spend a year eating a locally-produced diet, paying close attention to the provenance of all they consumed. Concerned about the environmental, social, and physical costs of American food culture, they hoped to recover what Kingsolver considers our nation's lost appreciation for farms and the natural processes of food production...With Americans' ever-growing concern over an agricultural establishment that negatively affects our health and environment, Animal, Vegetable, Miracle is a modern classic that will endure for years to come."
